The Garden Classroom

Greenleaf Gardens Inc. provides garden and ecology activities that are an extension of a students regular classroom education. We believe that gardening can foster students overall understanding and appreciation of the natural world and that it can be used to enhance and strengthen, from a practical, hands-on prospective, existing classroom curriculum. Our garden educators use a variety of cross-disciplinary studies to reinforce the content taught in the New York State content standards. Our garden-based lessons give further meaning to the study of science, math, social studies and arts and meet the needs of many different learning styles.

Integrating inquiry based, horticulture, sustainability and placed based education cultivates holistic systems approach to learning, critical thinking, understanding and problem solving.
